Fringe event managed by a consortium from Bolton Community railway / Hindu Forum and other volunteers of food stalls and music on the platform at Bolton Train Station.

Live from Worktown – Jazz Concerts

Jazz at the Olympus. To coincide with the food festival, live from worktown are presenting music over the weekened at venues throughout the town including the Olympus Chippy

The Octagon Family Festival

Taking place from Fri 21 – Sun 29 August expect a fun filled weekend of FREE family activities.

From storytelling in the main auditorium to cake decorating in their Kitchen and Bar; funky beats at the Family Disco and bubbles on the street, there’s something for everyone.

All activities are free but must be booked in advance.

ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:

Boogie Wonderland – Family Disco 
Pop on your dancing shoes and head to our Family Disco where dad dancing is positively encouraged! This free, fun session will get mums, dads and grandparents strutting their stuff alongside the kids in our air conditioned, glamourous studio. You can follow along and learn the moves with our fabulous dance artist or freestyle your own way. (limited spaces specific timeslots must be booked).

Storytelling – Crocodile Tales
Never Smile at a Crocodile! Join us throughout the day for interactive storytelling and crafts. Told by a professional actor in our main auditorium, we’ll be telling deliciously crunchy stories with a bite.

Sanctuary Space
The sanctuary space is our dedicated area for families to unwind and get creative, with crafts, face painting and sensory activities. Come along and be inspired.

BOOKING INFORMATION:

All Family Festival activities are free but we are asking families to book a slot for everyone who is visiting. You’ll be given a wristband for each family member when you arrive which will enable you to stay for up to 2 and a half hours, with various activities happening at different times for you to enjoy.

Street performers:

Keep your eyes peeled over the festival weekend for some fun and games with our fantastic street performers.  They’ll be popping up all over the festival site (including in the park) so expect some mayhem and madness whenever they appear!
