Cookery Demonstration by Ainsley Harriott

Ainsley’s first visit to the festival is causing something of a stir and we can’t wait to see what he’ll cook up for us in his debut at the festival on Sunday morning. Whatever it is it’s sure to be delivered in Ainsley’s fun loving, flamboyant style with some great top tips along the way!

Don't forget to book your tickets early to see Ainsley's cookery demonstration in the Main Festival Marquee on Victoria Square. The Marquee bar is open during the demo.


Afternoon Tea with Ainsley Harriott

Come and enjoy an Afternoon tea hosted by Ainsley Harriott, with special guests John Whaite and Rosie Dummer.

Our Afternoon Tea session is one of the most popular events at the festival and is a great way to meet the stars, see a live cooking demo by John Whaite and enjoy a Slattery afternoon tea and a glass of something fizzy.

Joining the show is Rosie Dummer created Bolton festival's Cake Show stopper 2015 with her Giant Elephant cake.

What more could you want on a Sunday Afternoon but an afternoon packed with sumptuous tasty treats and top cookery tips!

Wine tasting

Join Celebrity Chef Ainsley Harriott and top Wine Critic Simon Woods for some great tips and advice about matching food and wine.

This is a great event for all you wine lovers out there this year.

It’s a tipple not to be missed and a chance to pick up some wine tips and knowledge from our wine aficionado Simon Woods and top Celebrity Chef Ainsley Harriott

This special wine tasting event is based in our Main marquee on Victoria Square. We’ve also teamed them up with our headline sponsors Aldi who will be supplying some of their award winning wines for the event.


Alice’s Wonderland - Mad Hatter’s Tea Party

Every day at the festival children can join Alice on her adventures as she falls into a world of peculiar creatures at the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party!

Children will love the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party where magical creatures will be brought to life. During the tea party there will be chance to  experience a lively interactive Alice in Wonderland musical, make a fun mask to take home and even play croquet with the Red Queen, share a snack with Alice and sip a cup of tea with the March Hare at the specially prepared picnic – just don’t wake up the Dormouse!

The picnic will contain goodies from Slattery, Carrs Pasties and Aldi.

Free Regional Chef Demonstrations

Missed out on a ticket to see the celebs? Don’t forget there are also Free cookery demonstrations each day from local and regional chefs, all of whom are celebrities in their own right.

Drop by the Lifestyle Hall at Bolton Market on Ashburner Street (25th & 26th only) or the Regional Chef Marquee on Corporation Street. Expect some familiar faces and new additions too, a full timetable of chefs will be available prior to the festival.

You can also grab a ticket to one of the hottest shows around and watch James Martin cook up a storm on Bank Holiday Morning – and, we’re bringing our ‘A’ game to the Regional Chef’s Marquee on the Monday too, when two of our finest chefs will go head to head in a cookery showdown bringing our festival to a close.

Did we also mention our jam-packed music and entertainment, and plenty of bars including a brand new festival bar on Le Mans Crescent and lots of seating areas?
