Early risers? Then why not join Celebrity Chef, Simon Rimmer in the morning for a fantastic Saturday Brunch and cooking demo?

While you're tucking into an extra special brunch, Simon will be showing you how he makes different versions of the fantastic one pot egg recipe he's chosen for his live demo!

You can sit back and relax while we serve you up a tasty dish made with some very special ingredients and look after you. A drink is included in the price.

Simon will be entertaining the crowds in his special cookery demonstration - an event not to be missed!

The event is in the Main Festival Marquee on Victoria Square and the Marquee bar is open during the demo.

Pastie and Beer tasting with Simon Rimmer

Simon Rimmer will be joined by Beer Sommelier Annabel Smith (Beer Belle) and Carrs Pasties for this cracking new event to talk all about Pasties and Beer!

Carrs will be providing a few of Bolton's favourite pasties (6 to be exact) and will be combining forces with Simon to create an extra special Festival pastie!

To wash down the pasties there will of course be some fantastic real ales and beers served on a bat! Further details will be revealed very soon on the brand and brewery of the beers but you won't be disappointed!  Over 18s only.

As an extra special treat and because everyone loves fine dining we're bringing you Made In Bolton by Aiden Byrne to our Main Festival Marquee. You can experience a fine dining 3 course dinner for just £60 per person with three menu options available with specially selected wines available to purchase at our marquee bar.

Numbers are limited and tickets are sold individually for shared tables of 8, so be quick! Where else would you get chance to enjoy a special three course dinner prepared by Celebrity Chef Aiden Byrne. Check out the menu below...



  • Confit rabbit, young leek and truffle terrine grilled Sour dough and celeriac remoulade

  • Shellfish bisque, grilled Sicilian red prawns saffron mayonnaise

  • Grilled beetroot salad, baked figs and Tete de Moine cheese


  • Braised beef cheek, choucroute, Wagyu fillet tartar, sweet miso hollandaise and beef Secretto ham

  • Red pepper crusted cod loin, aubergine caviar and mussels

  • Butter poached chicken breast, onion macaroni butter head lettuce

    There are six time slots for sittings which will run in half hour intervals for the restaurant starting from 6.30 for 7pm until 9.30pm.

Alice’s Wonderland - Mad Hatter’s Tea Party

Every day at the festival children can join Alice on her adventures as she falls into a world of peculiar creatures at the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party!

Children will love the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party where magical creatures will be brought to life. During the tea party there will be chance to  experience a lively interactive Alice in Wonderland musical, make a fun mask to take home and even play croquet with the Red Queen, share a snack with Alice and sip a cup of tea with the March Hare at the specially prepared picnic – just don’t wake up the Dormouse!

The picnic will contain goodies from Slattery, Carrs Pasties and Aldi. If you have special dietary requirements no problem, just let us know when you book your tickets!

Free Regional Chef Demonstrations

Missed out on a ticket to see the celebs? Don’t forget there are also Free cookery demonstrations each day from local and regional chefs, all of whom are celebrities in their own right.

Drop by the Lifestyle Hall at Bolton Market on Ashburner Street (25th and 26th only) or the Regional Chef Marquee on Corporation Street. Expect some familiar faces and new additions too, a full timetable of chefs will be available prior to the festival.

You can also grab a ticket to one of the hottest shows around and watch James Martin cook up a storm on Bank Holiday Morning – and, we’re bringing our ‘A’ game to the Regional Chef’s Marquee on the Monday too, when two of our finest chefs will go head to head in a cookery showdown bringing our festival to a close.

There’s something for everyone with lots more special events on the menu this year too… everything from Afternoon Tea to Wine Tasting.

Did we also mention our jam-packed music and entertainment, and plenty of bars including a brand new festival bar on Le Mans Crescent and lots of seating areas?
