John Whaite is a British Cook, Cookery Author and TV presenter. John won the third series of the BBC’s The Great British Bake Off
He runs his own cookery school, John Whaite’s Kitchen, set in the heart of rural Lancashire. John is the co-presenter of ITV’s food programme, Chopping Block with Rosemary Shrager, which first aired in April & May 2016, the second series is due in Spring 2017 . His third book, Perfect Plates In 5 Ingredients, published by Kyle Books, launched on 21st April, 2016.
John is also the resident chef on ITV’s Lorraine, a role he has enjoyed for the last two years. Food has always been John’s passion, learning at his mother’s knee and growing up on a dairy farm. There, he learned about British produce and the importance of supporting local food producers and artisan crafters. John then went on to study at Le Cordomgon Bleu, and gained a first class Law degree from the University of Manchester after declining a place to study at Oxford University.
John decided to hang up the gown and don the apron, a decision spurred on after he won The Great British Bake Off. Following his win, he wrote John Whaite Bakes: Recipes for Every Day and Every Mood and John Whaite Bakes At Home. John is a popular brand ambassador and has worked with a number of leading blue chip food businesses.
