A word from Warburtons...

It all began in a small grocery shop in Bolton which Thomas and Ellen Warburton set up in 1870 - the shop's still there today, right opposite the Warburton HQ! In 1876 after a slump in the grocery trade, Ellen had the brainwave to bake her own bread. Her first batch sold out in under an hour and the decision was made to rename the business, Warburtons the bakers. The rest, as they say, is history...

Today, Warburtons is a household name offering products we all know and love - the Toastie Loaf, Potato Cakes and Crumpets - there's something for everyone.

Always innovative, Warburtons is continually developing its product range. New products include:
- Lunch Rolls
- Fruit Loaf With Orange
- All In One Loaf

Jonathon Warburton, Chairman of Warburtons says "Warburtons began in Bolton over 130 years ago when my Great Aunt Ellen baked the first Warburtons loaves in her small grocery shop on Blackburn Road. Our headquarters and two of our bakeries are located just yards away from this original and therefore, food in Bolton will always remain important to myself and my cousins. We are delighted to be sponsoring the Bolton Food & Drink Festival and believe it will be a great success."
