It’s all about food and drink!

This year we're adding some great new events and making the existing ones even better to ensure this year's festival is the best yet. The speciality market will be open throughout the four day festival and  there are a range of events being added from partner venues and restaurants as special treats just for you.
 
We'll be adding more events as we go so don't forget to keep coming back so you don't miss out!

Speciality Markets

Market stalls and traders

This year the speciality market will be bigger than ever with a great range of local and regional producers and stallholders. Over 70 stalls will be set up throughout the town centre on Victoria Square and onto Oxford Street and Deansgate where you can stroll through and experience and savour the mouthwatering array of delights on offer. There will also be a new arts and crafts fair on Newport Street.

Gala Dinner

A four-course, fine dining experience not to be missed! Hosted by Celebrity Chef Michael Caines, who is joined by some of our great regional chefs, Andrew Nutter, Chris Yates and The Albert Halls' very own Steve Anderson, this promises to be a sumptuous evening.

Celebrity Chef Demos

The Italian-born celebrity chef and restaurateur Aldo Zilli makes a welcome addition to our line up this year. Aldo is chef patron of the Zilli Fish group and is one of Soho's most flamboyant restaurateurs. Owner of Zilli Fish (the flagship restaurant), Zilli Café, Zilli Green and Zilli Bar. Aldo’s larger than life personality is sure to prove popular at his cooking demos.

A favourite at Bolton Food and Drink Festival, James Martin will notch up his fourth appearance at this year’s event! He is a Yorkshire man, with a passion for proper British food and fast cars. James has worked in professional kitchens from the age of 10 and at the age of 11, he cooked for the Queen Mother. Too good to miss at just £5 per person.

Festival Treats

1940's weekend

The restaurant will be decorated with wartime memorabilia, the staff will be dressed in military uniforms and Farnworth Performing Arts will be singing a medley of 1940's songs

Times: The restaurant is open from 8.30am till 7pm except Monday we close at 4pm. The singers will be performing at 12.30 till 2pm and 3.30pm till 5pm

Bolton's Best Potato Hash

Mecca Bingo, located in the town centre, is searching for "Bolton's Best Potato Hash" on Saturday 24th August 2013.

Simply bring a bowl for our judges to sample from 11am on the day. The winner will be announced at 3.30pm who will receive a cash prize of £100 and awarded a trophy for creating "Bolton’s Best Potato Hash".
